Consulting Activities
Michael and Maureen Kraten founded Enterprise Management Corporation (EMC) in 1995 to serve as a corporate home for their professional business activities. The practice encompasses three centers of excellence: a center for negotiation, a center for entrepreneurship, and a center for social policy. They conduct many of their ongoing consulting activities via electronic communication modalities. Nevertheless, they are also available to provide on-site consulting services when face-to-face contact is preferred.
Their primary strategic advantage is their ability to identify, translate, and apply various concepts and techniques from the academic arena in a manner that facilitates their use in the business environment. They have significant experience in developing in-house corporate training programs for private enterprises, as well as executive MBA and online degree programs for colleges and universities, and they consistently integrate information from both realms into their consulting projects.
Most of their clients maintain operations that are located in the northeastern United States, primarily in the Boston / New York City / Washington DC transportation corridor. Many of these firms, however, pursue business interests on a global level, and they continue to exploit the latest communication technologies in order to optimize their ability to serve their clients wherever they conduct their affairs.
Michael and Maureen Kraten define EMC as an entrepreneurial consulting practice that is dedicated to the mission of: (a) educating current and future business leaders in the application of scientific management principles, (b) researching theories and policies that lead to the identification of optimal management strategies, and (c) developing organizational capabilities for implementing superior processes and measuring results. They have advised, consulted, and trained executives, managers, and staff personnel of Fortune 100 firms, start-up entrepreneurial businesses, nonprofit organizations, and national and regional governmental regulators about a wide variety of strategic, financial, and operational practices.
